This very special one-of-kind pendant is from a 200 year old altar. It is an image of the Jainist saint Mahavira etched in glass and painted in 22K gold, set in 18K gold. Mahavira was born in the 6th century and was a contempory of Buddha. At the core of his teachings was the principal of "Ahimsha" which is that on non-violence, and liberation of the soul. Mahavira means "The Great Victor". A rare and special piece.
